We’ve been slowly bringing a little bit of Christmas into our home over the last few weeks. One of my favourite family traditions is picking out a live Christmas tree together. This year we found a new little Christmas tree farm close to our home and they had the most beautiful Christmas trees.
We took our time wandering around the tree lot looking at all the trees and ended up picking out a pretty little spruce.
We covered the tree in lights and the kids hung some pine cones on the branches. I’ve been turning on the lights on the Christmas tree in the morning and I’m so enjoying having it to brighten up these colder, cloudy days. Nothing is more relaxing then sitting by the glow of the Christmas tree with a warm blanket and hot drink.
I found this gorgeous, vintage inspired floral wrapping paper online a couple weeks ago and it’s so beautiful in person. I added some simple gold ribbon to the gifts and cut gift tags from black card stock.
We have a small collection of vintage glass Christmas balls from my great-grandfather and I love finding a spot for them each year. This year I put them in vintage mason jars and I love the sparkle they add.
We hung our burlap stockings on our new row of hooks we just put up by the front door.
I’m so enjoying Christmas around our house and all the little family traditions that we have together. Picking out our Christmas tree, nightly advent readings, looking at Christmas lights, baking shortbread and snuggling up by the Christmas tree.
